A Little About Me

My name is Rebekkah Traptow and I am the founder of Love First Maternal Support. I am 26 and the mother of 3 children ages 5, 3 and 1. My husband and I have been married for 6 years and we currently reside in the Red Deer, AB area! I love to cook, bake (my husband appreciates this), play various sports, and am up for pretty much anything I can do with a coffee in hand (don’t worry, I finish my coffee BEFORE attending a birth).

I have been a Doula since September of 2018 and I offer Fertility, Birth, Postpartum services, Childbirth Education and Breastfeeding Education.

I believe strongly that being a Childbirth Educator and Breastfeeding Educator are incredibly useful for me in supporting my clients as fully and knowledgeably as possible. I am also bilingual, French being my first language. Prior to becoming a Doula, I was a day home provider and have some training in early childhood development.  I believe this is an asset as a Postpartum Doula. I am also completing my Diverse Families certification to help me better serve families considering adoption, blending families, Surrogates and their Intended Parents.

I became a Doula because of my passion for loving, encouraging and helping parents to feel confident and empowered at every stage of their journeys. I recognized that families are lacking the support of an unbiased, knowledgeable, loving and encouraging village and I wanted to help fill that gap. The way I approach maternal care is with a “love first” mindset. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, what your age, nationality, beliefs or background is; I love and support you first.
